Create an innovative service for Volvo Car's customers
October 22-24, 2021
The first mass-produced Volvo rolled off the assembly line of the plant in Gothenburg in 1927. Since then Volvo Car Group holds the position of the world leader in the production of innovative and safe vehicles. Nowadays Volvo is one of the most famous and respected car brands, and the company's sales market includes over 100 countries.
In accordance with a new company's goal Volvo Cars aims to provide customers with free movement with respect to their personal interests, sustainability and security. This goal is reflected in a number of business ambition: for example, the company works to ensure that half of the global sales will be fully electric vehicles by the middle of the decade, and 5 million consumers will be direct contacted.

General problem formulation: Creation of a mobile application for a loyalty program for Volvo Cars customers
Problem description: We want potential and current customers to choose Volvo again and again. We want to provide a convenient digital tool that allows you to make relevant personalized communication directly from the car manufacturer, as well as learn about special features and offers from us and our partners.
It is important for us to know, listen and hear our customers. Our clients are the premium segment (both men and women of different age groups).
Ways of direct interaction with the company:
www.volvocars.com
contact center,
Volvo Car App,
advertising,
social network,
conferences
Indirect interaction occurs through dealerships.
At the moment, a solid foundation for communication with our customers has already been built - the company has a Privilege club loyalty program - but this is not enough for us, we want to go further.
What the ideal solution looks like: The application should cover the entire CJM (Customer Journey Map) in terms of loyalty.
2. Development of services for customer engagement
General formulation of the problem: Development of innovative services for customer engagement (consumer engagement) using tools on the developers portal: 3D, API, Android Automotive
Problem description: Customers are waiting for new digital products and services to get a better customer experience when using a car (Auto Custumer Experience 2.0). Our clients are the premium segment (both men and women of different age groups).
Ways of direct interaction with the company:
www.volvocars.com
contact center,
Volvo Car App,
advertising,|
social network,
conferences.
Indirect interaction occurs through dealerships.
The main trend of customer experience now is digitalization (online search\comparison\booking\car purchase\contactless car delivery\online service booking, etc.). Previously, the basis of customer experience was offline, now customers often come to the dealership already knowing what car they will purchase. Not to mention new forms of mobility (such as car subscriptions) or new products and services (such as contactless trunk delivery).
What the ideal solution looks like: Functional, convenient and innovative service for the client, creating a Wow effect.

FAQ
Hackathon is the team competition for developers, designers, business analysts and managers, who solve a business problem in a short time.
No, but we will help you to find a team! Only teams of 3-5 people will be invited to participate. It is truly difficult to combine all the necessary competencies to solve the problem alone.
If you don't have a team, we recommend you to join an existing team or build your own for the duration of the hackathon. It is possible to create a team on our registration platform. The main thing is to submit team application until October 19. The information about all existing teams and participants in search of a team will be posted on the hackathon registration platform.
Everyone can participate. But remember that this hackathon is designed for developers in the first place.
Yes. Participants must be over the age of 18.
Communication with participants will be operated using Zoom and Telegram. You need to install it in advance. Before the hackathon check that you can share your screen and your webcam & microphone work correctly.
We will close registration on October 19 and select teams. The best teams will attend the hackathon on October 22-24.
You should enter all the information detailed in your application on the registration platform, also upload your CV. Then build a team with members who have all the necessary competencies for one of tracks.
When working with Unity it is forbidden to use paid assets. All used in works assets must be accessible for mentors, who will check the solutions.
You can ask your questions in hackathon's telegram-chat with #ask hashtag.
